Carriage House Rooms

Coming to Vermont for a vacation or to visit your Middlebury College student? Consider the spacious accommodations in our pet-friendly Carriage House.

The 1880 building sits adjacent to the Main House. The building held the family horses, carriages, and buggies. In 1990, it was thoughtfully redesigned into six spacious guestrooms. These rooms are large, comfortable, and ideal for a special romantic getaway. Each guestroom offers a king-size bed, memory foam sofa bed, jetted tub, and sitting area. For the colder months, each room is also equipped with a fireplace to help create a romantic and cozy atmosphere.

Traveling with a family? No problem, as each room can accommodate up to a family of four with the use of memory-foam sleeper sofas in the guestrooms. We know how important pets are to our guests, so the Swift House Inn is one of very few inns that welcome dogs to stay with their owners. Dogs are allowed to stay in the six guestrooms in the Carriage House.

Our Carriage House guestrooms offer many luxuries including small refrigerators, individual heat and air conditioning controls, and an individual-serve coffee machine in each room. After a long bicycle ride or a day on the slopes, unwind in the Carriage House’s sauna or steam shower. As always, a complimentary, full breakfast is served every morning in our Main House dining room.

Carriage House rooms are named Black Hawk, Bulrush, Gladstone, Mansfield, Sherman, and Woodbury, the names of Morgan horses. Choose a seasonal package to suit the time of year you want to visit our beautiful state.
