creators of our time exist not only because of their talent, but also often
because someone took a chance on what they brought to the table and saw great
worth. Many artists, especially in the film department, appreciate any way to
get their art form out into the public. Not for fame and recognition – while
that certainly can come—but so their story can be told.
Filmmaker’s Festival has been put together to honor and celebrate the great
new talent that is coming out in the world of cinema. This year is in fact the
inaugural year for this festival and it will be taking place August 27-30,
2015. Happening in the beautiful and historic city of Middlebury, VT this
four-day festival will be screening films in three different venues: the Town
Hall Theater, The Marquis Theater, and The Dana Auditorium. There will be all
genres in the mix including documentary, narrative, animation and experimental.
There will also be a panel of judges led by Jay Craven, the festival’s artistic
will be on hand to engage in Q&A sessions with the audience following the
screening. There will also be several parties going on throughout the festival
including an exclusive Filmmakers Gathering at Storm Café and an Opening Night
party right here at Swift House Inn. We are thrilled to be hosting this great
event. There are several different tickets and passes you can purchase
depending on what you are interested in attending—you can find out all of this
information and more on the event website.
House Inn is just a short 5-minute walk from the center of town where all
of the festival activities will be taking place, making it a great home away
from home during your time here. Our 20-room former governor’s mansion has all
of the amenities, space, and privacy you need to fully relax and feel at home.
