Winter Sleigh Rides Near Swift House Inn, VT

Nestled in the heart of Vermont’s Champlain Valley is the
city of Middlebury, a serene and simple town surrounded by a beautiful
landscape, home to the world-renowned Middlebury College, and full of activity
and culture. It is right here that Swift House Inn is located, a historic,
classic Vermont country Inn.
We are close to a myriad of things to do, places to go,
restaurants to try, and shops to explore. In the winter, you can hike, ski, and

things to do in the area and in the spirit of the holiday season, we wanted to
highlight some places nearby where you can enjoy a relaxing, memorable sleigh
ride.
There are several places within a short drive that offer
sleigh rides in the winter. One great place to try is the Mountain Top Inn in
Chittenden, VT. They are under an hour away from our inn and offer 30-minute
sleight rides on a daily basis from December to March, weather permitting. You
need to reserve a seat before you go and you can find ticket prices and hours
of operation on their website.
Pond Hill Ranch in Castleton, VT is only 40 minutes away and
also offers sleigh rides as well as trail rides and lessons should you be
interested.  Thornapple Farm right
here in Middlebury provides a variety of horse drawn services and sleigh rides
in the winter. Sleigh rides are offered at Shelburne Farms through the end of
March and by reservation at Thornapple Farm. A typical ride lasts around 45
minutes and they offer hot chocolate afterwards in the main house to warm you
up.
