Big lakes, small lakes, streams, and rivers all make for numerous opportunities to swim while spending a summer vacation at the Swift House Inn. 

Branbury State Park, located on Lake Dunmore, is the ideal lake beach.  Spread your blanket on the lawn, grab a snack from the concession, dangle your toes in the water, and watch the kids splash in the cool lake.  Go ahead and take a swim; it’s a little cool but always refreshing!  This is a great place to swim after a hike up to Silver Lake. 

How about a real “swimmin' hole”, where the locals go?  There are a few close by with cool mountain water, deep and shallow pools, and even some cliff diving for the brave.  These picturesque and quiet spots are great areas for those of all ages.  Take a lunch with you, sit on the rocks, explore the pools, and just enjoy the slow pace and experience what Vermont is all about.  Our staff will not only give you directions, but you might also see them swimming there!
