Twelve miles from the Swift House Inn is Middlebury College’s Rikert Touring Center, located at the Bread Loaf Campus of Middlebury College. The Center provides a winter recreation area for cross-country enthusiasts and is bordered by the Green Mountain National Forest. These woodlands provide unspoiled natural beauty near the top of the Green Mountain range. The Touring Center offers 42 kilometers of prepared trails, both picturesque and challenging, for every level of ability. A short distance from the Rikert Center is the Blueberry Hill Cross Country Center, which has 75 kilometers of groomed trails. Both Centers have a pro shop, rentals, and lessons.
