Spring can be a wondrous time for a romantic weekend getaway in Vermont, although sometimes the spring weather arrives a little late. It is a very busy time at Middlebury College with all of the spring sports and concerts.

In early spring, we are still sitting by the fireplaces and waiting for the mud to go away. Once the weather gets warm, Vermont explodes with all of the spring growth, and you learn why it is the Green Mountain state. This is a great time to stay and enjoy dinner and the wine list at the bar here at the Swift House. We have tailored some spring holiday special packages to entice you to enjoy the time here in Vermont.

Fly Fishing in Vermont

April 9-October 31

Enjoy two nights at the Swift House and a day of fly fishing for two. In the Spring time the trout are hungry and active after a long cold winter. The local Middlebury rivers and streams are teaming with Rainbow and Brown trout waiting for you. You will be accompanied by a local guide from Stream and Brook , providing local knowledge and everything from useful tips to teaching you how to fly fish. Everyone from those who have never fished to the most experienced will enjoy this package. Package includes 2 nights lodging, one dinner for 2, a day of guided fly fishing with lunch and a fly box with local flies. Rates are for two people fishing; if only one is fishing the second person will enjoy a massage at a local spa. Package ranges from $700 to $900, depending on Main House or Carriage House room selection and weekday or weekend. (Package is subject to availability of guide and spa; gratuities for guide and masseuse are not included).

The Extended Stay

February 1 - March 31

We are offering a discount for our guests during February and March: stay two nights and pay full price the first night and half price the second night, or stay three nights and pay for only the first two! (Does not apply during Middlebury College special weekends and holiday periods; can not be combined with other discounts)

The Romantic Escape

March 1 - April 30

Relax and forget about the rest of the world with a candlelight dinner for two, a night in our Carriage House, a bottle of champagne with dinner, and breakfast the next day for $275 per couple. (Does not apply during Middlebury College special weekends and holiday periods)

The Swift Experience

March 1 - April 30

Enjoy two nights at the Swift House in your choice of rooms. Enjoy a scrumptious dinner one night in Jessica's restaurant. Take home two Swift House mugs, two Swift House robes, and a bag of Swift House homemade granola. $705 per couple for a large room with King bed and whirlpool tub in our Carriage House and $555 per couple for a room in our historic Main House; rate includes dinner gratuity but does not include tax or other gratuities.
